The Shaw JCC Fitness Center is always staffed by a knowledgeable and qualified JCC staff member. They are able and willing to assist you with our fitness equiptment and any questions you may have.
Our Fitness Center is equipped with up-to-date cardio and weight equiptment so you can maximize the benefits of your workout routine.
To make your workout more enjoyable, our cardio equiptment area is outfitted with 8 televisions with sound available through headsets on every machine and our weight room plays a surround-sound stereo.
New User Orientation
New to the Shaw JCC's Fitness Facility? Be sure to take advantage of our FREE program designed to educate new users on the proper techniques and safe use of resistance training equiptment and cardiovascular training machines.

Free Weight Orientation
Learn proper lifting techniques, overall usage and handling of free weights, and weight room etiquette. Each muscle group and a variety of basic free weight exercises will be covered. Please contact the Fitness Staff at 330-835-0032 to schedule an appointment.
Cardiovascular Equiptment Orientation
Want to boost your cardio workout but don't know where to start? This orientation shows you the different pieces of cardio equiptment and the programs they offer. Please contact the Fitness Staff at 330-835-0032 to schedule an appointment.
Bands Orientation
This orientation will show you the basic exercises and proper form and technique to master thera bands and add variety to your strength and flexibility workout. Please contact the Fitness Staff at 330-835-0032 to schedule an appointment.
BOSU Ball Orientation
BOSU training will add a total body challenge to your workout. This orientation will show you how to utilize the BOSU ball to focus on your balance, core, and total body strength and endurance. Please contact the Fitness Staff at 330-835-0032 to schedule an appointment.
Stability Ball Orientation
This orientation will teach you some basic exercises to get started using the stability ball in your workout to give yourself a new challenge! Please contact the Fitness Staff at 330-835-0032 to schedule an appointment.
Fitness Center Etiquette
1. Don't be afraid to ask for help! It is better to ask for assistance and do the exercise correctly than to do the exercise wrong and injure yourself.
2. Help combat confusion and sign-up for the Cardio machines on the white boards.
3. Wear correct gym shoes (and make sure they're clean!)
4. Wipe down equiptment and machines after you are done using it.
5. Avoid wearing strongly scented perfumes, colognes, and lotions. It may become more potent as you workout and irritate others.
6. Return the weights and other equiptment to where they belong. Others are here to train, not to participate in a scavenger hunt :)
