Registration Open for Fall Youth Programming

It's that time of year again! School has started, and we invite you to jump into our Fall youth programming! There are many fun and exciting youth programs that will be happening at The J - from Junior Cavs Basketball League to gymnastics and theater - there's something for everyone! J members receive discounted pricing on all programs. Families with children enrolled in our KidSpace program will receive additional discounts. So, what are you waiting for? Sunday Junior Cavs Basketball League: The Shaw JCC is partnering with TNBA and the NBA World Champion Cleveland Cavaliers’ Junior Cavs program for a Sunday basketball league. Watch as your children learn to work as a team and learn their individual strengths to gain the confidence they need to excel! Come for practice, meet the TNBA staff and learn more about the program on Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. League runs Sundays, Oct. 1-Nov. 5. Cost: $100 Member/$120 Guest. Players receive a jersey and Cavs game ticket.

TNBA Mini Dribblers is an instructional program for kids in grades K-2 and is designed to introduce and teach the fundamentals of basketball in a unique, exciting and educational way. We will provide a fun and nurturing environment for children to discover what they can achieve. Tuesdays, Sept. 26-Nov. 6 (6 classes) 4:15-5 p.m. Cost: $60 Member/$75 Guest 

TNBA Junior Dribblers is the next level after Mini Dribblers for grades 3-6 and all levels are welcome. Children can further enhance their basketball skills while gaining confidence in themselves! Tuesdays, Sept. 26-Nov. 6 (6 classes) 5-6 p.m. Cost: $60 Member/$75 Guest

Table Tennis / Ping Pong is a growing sport and the best of the best is here at the Shaw JCC with the professionals from the Samson Dubina Academy as instructors. (ages 5-16) Thursdays, Sept. 28-Nov. 2 (6 classes) 4:30-5:30 p.m. ($5 discount for kids enrolled in KidSpace)

Level 1: Children will learn a foundation for swimming with an American Red Cross Swimming Instructor.* Your child's confidence will build as they learn essential swimming basics. Mondays & Wednesdays, Sept. 11- Oct. 9, 6-6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, Sept. 16- Nov. 1, 9:30-10 a.m.

Level 2: This program will build off of Level 1 and add to the skills your children have learned. Mondays & Wednesdays, Sept. 11- Oct. 9, 6-6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, Sept. 16- Nov. 1, 10-10:30 a.m.

Level 3: Continuing from previous levels, children will learn a few types of styles of swimming. Mondays & Wednesdays, Sept. 11-Oct. 9, 9-9:45 a.m. and Saturdays, Sept. 16-Nov. 1, 10:30-11:15 a.m.

Level 4 & 5: Building on the previous styles of swimming, children will continue to refine their skills.
Level 3 and 4 & 5, Mondays & Wednesdays, Sept. 11- Oct. 9, 6:30-7:15 p.m. and Saturdays, Sept. 16- Nov. 1, 10:30-11:15 a.m.

* All swim classes are led by an American Red Cross Swimming Instructor.
Gymnastics Class: Students ages 6-15 will work to develop coordination, balance, fitness as well as self-confidence in a safe and fun environment. Fridays, Sept. 29-Nov. 1 (6 classes), 4:30-5:30 p.m. ($5 discount for kids enrolled in KidSpace)

Weathervane Performing Arts Wednesdays Students will go over the basics of theater including stage directions, terminology, how to move on stage, etc. Kids in this program will gain more than confidence and new skills, they will gain new friends along the way too. Wednesdays, Sept. 27-Dec. 6 (Ages 5-7 & 8-11, separate classes) 5-6 p.m. ($10 discount for kids enrolled in KidSpace)
