Mandel ECE Splashes into Summer

We are having a great summer here in the ECE. Our little swimmers are thriving' and their swimming skills continue to amaze me! Our travel campers have visited a lot of great places so far this summer. They have gone to the Akron-Canton Food Regional Bank, The Cleveland Zoo, Nature Realm, and Wolf Creek Environmental Park.

Last week our children celebrated July 4th on the 3rd with stars and stripes activities; red, white and blue snack creations; and a parade.  They walked around our campus waving their American flags and singing “This Land is Your Land.” It was wonderful! Shaw JCC members and staff in other departments were so appreciative of our patriotic celebration.

While we are only at the half-way point of our summer, together we have been busy planning exciting events and happenings for the upcoming school year. In early August, you will receive a calendar for the 2019-2020 school year as well as your child’s classroom placement and other back-to-school info.

In the meantime, please be sure to check out our latest program guide to learn about a few new programs that will be starting in September. We are excited to bring back Tiny Toes Jazz/Hip Hop as well as Tiny Toes ballet. We have a wonderful instructor joining our ECE community and look forward to the roll-out of her exciting dance program that has been created just for the Mandel ECE.

Also joining our community this fall is Jamieson Bowman. Jamieson will be offering Suzuki style violin lessons beginning in September. Jamieson has been visiting our ECE halls and has become a familiar face to the children. He has a wonderful way of connecting with the children through music. Be sure to check out the lesson choices for fall in our program guide.

In addition to these new programs, we have added a preschool gymnastics program. Check it out!

We hope you’ll join us for Popsicles with Parents next Thursday, July 18 on our playground. While you are picking up your children at the end of the day, please enjoy a popsicle with your child and other ECE families. This event will be from 4:00-5:45 p.m. We hope to see you there!
